AS9100 / AS9110 / AS9120 Certification

The AS9100 series is built on ISO 9001, but it runs on a separate certification scheme entirely: certification bodies must hold specific aerospace accreditation recognised by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) or Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG), following the AS9104 rules — this is distinct from, and additional to, general ISO 9001 accreditation such as our EGAC scope. Every certified organisation must also be registered in the IAQG’s OASIS database, which is mandatory, not optional. We will confirm our specific aerospace accreditation status for this scheme with you directly before any engagement begins.
One family, three parts of the supply chain
AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 are the aerospace sector’s quality management standards, each covering a different role in the supply chain, but sharing the same ISO 9001 foundation plus aerospace-specific requirements for safety, traceability, and regulatory conformity.
Because failure in an aerospace part or process carries outsized consequences, these standards add controls generic ISO 9001 doesn’t: configuration management, counterfeit parts prevention, special process control, and first article inspection, among others.
Certification is a de facto entry requirement for suppliers to major OEMs, primes, and airlines — buyers increasingly won’t qualify a supplier without it, and use the OASIS database to verify status before award.
Design & manufacturing
For organisations designing, developing, or producing aviation, space, and defense products — OEMs, component manufacturers, and design/engineering firms.
Maintenance, repair & overhaul
For MRO providers and airline in-house maintenance departments — a supplement to regulatory approvals such as Part 145, not a replacement for them.

Application & scoping
We confirm which standard applies — AS9100, AS9110, or AS9120 — your site structure, and confirm audit duration and pricing.
Documentation review
Your quality manual and QMS documentation are reviewed against the applicable AS standard.
Stage 1 audit
An on-site readiness assessment confirming your QMS is implemented and prepared for the certification audit.
Stage 2 audit
Full evaluation using the AS9101 audit methodology, covering configuration management, traceability, and special processes.
Certification decision
An independent technical committee reviews audit findings ahead of the certification decision.
Certificate issuance & OASIS registration
Your certificate is issued and your organisation is registered in the mandatory OASIS database.
Surveillance & recertification
Annual surveillance audits maintain certification; a recertification audit renews it at the three-year mark.
